A historic castle-like building made of light-colored stone, with a tall pointed tower, several turrets, and a weather vane on top of the spire. The building has medieval architectural features, with multiple windows and decorative elements. Flags are flying from the top of the building, one of which appears to be the Union Jack.

Entrance Exam Programme

Securing a place in a top school requires a strong grasp of the general academic curriculum, refined exam technique, performance under pressure, and the presentation of strong profile outside of academia for the interview—expectations that would intimidate most adults, let alone children. My tried and tested entrance exam programme alleviates the stress and responsibility placed on parents and the pressure placed on children. I adapt my approach to my students’ individual needs, understanding where they need help and how to make the process enjoyable for them. My students gain entrance to top schools while building confidence and skills that will serve them throughout their academic careers.

  • I have experience with all exam boards, including:

ISEB; CEM; CEM Plus; GL; London Consortium; School-Specific (First & Second Round)

  • Maths

    English Comprehension & Creative Writing

    Non-Verbal Reasoning

  • Proven strategies for:

    Exam technique and time management

Manage exam anxiety and performance pressure

Develop healthy study habits and routines

Find intrinsic motivation (not just parent/tutor-driven)

Set and achieve goals for learning

    Handle setbacks constructively

  • I take the uncertainty out of the interview process by:

Familiarising students with all styles of questions, including personal, academic, abstract and critical reasoning

The Process

Initial Meeting

In this initial video call, we will discuss your child’s educational needs and your school targets. Based on this conversation I will develop a comprehensive plan for your child’s exam preparation, including key goals and timelines, which I will share with you by email.

Ongoing Sessions

After our initial discussion, I will offer you a regular term-time weekly slot, either in person, online, or a combination. Consistent weekly lessons are the foundation of the program. I provide additional lessons during school holidays and in the lead up to the exams, as needed.

Alongside lessons, I set and manage independent exercises to consolidate learning. I use the most up-to-date platforms, like Atom Learning, alongside my own personalised system to track and analyse performance.

Progress Reviews

In addition to regular communication via phone and email, my programme includes one in-depth progress review meeting with parents per term. These meetings are an opportunity to make adjustments to the programme based on my observations and your input. We will also set goals for the upcoming term.

The Testing

In the final stages of preparation, I will introduce mock examinations. This is crucial for acclimating students to exam conditions, building experience in more pressurised formats.

  • "Dween was instrumental in helping our son during his final months of 11+ preparation, in which he sat multiple tests for various private schools in London. Each school had a different format of test and Dween supported our son in achieving the best results and receiving multiple offers. His tuition style was engaging yet disciplined and our son still looks back at them fondly. "
