About Me
I was the first student from my small Church of England primary school to gain entry into a private school—a milestone that brought immense pride to myself, my family and school. It was only years later that I fully recognised the pivotal role my own tutor played in guiding me toward that life-changing opportunity.
After graduating from the London School of Economics (LSE) with a degree in Politics & Philosophy, I began my tutoring career in Greater Manchester, working with students with diverse backgrounds, academic levels, and learning needs. I helped restore confidence in students facing a range of challenges—from those held back a year to those adapting to new curriculums after relocating, as well as students managing learning difficulties such as ADHD.
Through specialised one-to-one tuition, I equip students with the skills and self-belief they need to excel. Over the years, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the British education system, with particular expertise in entrance examinations for the most competitive schools in the UK.
The COVID-19 pandemic marked a significant turning point, highlighting the impact disruption in education can have on children’s formative years. During this period, I worked with a wide range of students, both domestic and international, with the aim of providing stability and helping them stay on track with their educational needs during an especially destabilising time.
Upon returning to London, I further refined my expertise, helping students to secure placements at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions. I continue to deepen my understanding of the private and grammar school landscape, ensuring that the families I work with benefit from the most current insights into this highly competitive process. This knowledge and experience forms the foundation of my entrance exam programme.
Long-term relationships with students and their families are at the heart of my approach. From working with siblings to personal referrals to clients and their friends, my network has grown from trust and positive results.
My Approach to Tutoring
Traditional tutoring tends to focus narrowly on exam performance, often relying on high-pressure methods and a one-size-fits-all approach that treats parents as customers and learning as a transaction.
In contrast, I take a more holistic approach, prioritising the development of the student through personalised learning, fostering transferable academic and life skills, and building a genuine partnership with families to support long-term success beyond the exam.
As the demands of education continue to evolve in a rapidly changing world, so too must our approach, placing greater emphasis on confidence, critical thinking, and the ability to learn beyond the confines of traditional methods.
